After getting my new to me 05 Escape on the road I went to a pic n pull and found an Escape with the Factory Mach 300 Stereo minus the head unit I got the rear sub and amp and interior panel plus the sail panel with the teeters
I hope to install this with my factory non Mach system
wiring looks at the rear amp looks like
Black/Green Ground (no brainer)
Red/Yellow Power ? Volts? Constant?
Gray/Black Power? Volts? 5 volts? Trigger?
and 2 shield speaker wires
Green/Black + or -?
Blue/Red + or - ?
One other question I have is the signal from the Mach headunit already low pass filtered meaning I would have to add my own LPF or is the LPF in the amp meaning I would NOT need to add LPF :?
The tweeters can what till the sub is working but that will be my next set of questions

Factory systems are pretty infamous for using weird voltages and connections. OEM's like Ford didn't make them to be upgrades. I wouldn't expect the Mach sub or other components to work well with a non-Mach head unit. There may be harnesses (Scocshe, Metra, PIE, etc). to make an aftermarket head units work with Ford speakers/subs.

Although certainly not the ideal way to go I'm fairly certain I can make the Mach 300 system play with the non mach system as long as get the right wires together
Like I said I did it with my Contour :thumb:
Surely somebody here must have done this :worry:  I've seen it mentioned before on here but without any definitive guide

I'm looking to do the same in mine. I did find wiring for tweeters in mine and i hooked a speaker to the wires and they were working. I guess it has to do with trim level. I have an LX and I have most of the wiring for the upgrades. I want a sub next.

:thumb: mines an 05 XLT ,but to be honest I didn't look behind my panels yet to look for wiring But just Assumed I'd have some splicing to do.
I also grabbed the tweeter pods from the same Escape in the U pull It yard ,just wanted to hook that up first

I'm not sure about the sub wiring but tweeters are already wired in on mine. I got a lot of unused connectors in the back of mine but not sure which is sub or not. My "optional" sound system was Bose but the head unit looks exactly the same and I've already made use of the unused plug in the back for my aux/iPod hookup. I really think everything is there to have the components but the components just aren't there. Tell me how the sub hooks up when you get to it! I really want to do the same with mine. If you don't have the wiring for the sub, I would go back to the U pull it yard and take the stock harness out. Much simpler, safer, and easier than fabricating your own.

I have the sub harness forward to the center of the cabin .and the tweeter pod harness down to the door plugs ,of note the tweeter harness has a built in high pass filter by the looks of it .I still need to know if the Mach head unit did the low pass filtering or if it was done by the amp?

Not sure. I think it's plug and play if the harness is there.

I had replaced the 6-CD changer in my 03 escape limited with Sony Mex-BT3900U, connected to the factory sub and amp. The sound is great. For the sub there is a separate wire connector with audio signal coming from the low pass filter (there is one on Mex-BT3900U) and a ON/OFF control for the amp (this control signal is also available from Mex-BT3900U, but I have to add a series resistor). Your head unit has to have a low pass filter to use the amp and sub.

Thanks for the reply. So you had a Mach 300 system to start with? .I'll be using the stock non Mach headunit for now .I used one of these with good results

when I did the system in my Contour ,to power(correction, trigger not power) the factory amp in that.
I have a stand alone LPF I plan to use

Just for my clarification, was YOUR Escape Factory equipped with the sub and amp? or you added it like I'm doing?

My 03 escape limited came with factory installed 6 CD changer with amp and sub. I had then replaced the head-unit because the CD-changer didn't work any more.
